Water balance is important to the overall performance of your hot tub. Water that is out of balance will decrease the effectiveness of the sanitizer, make the water uncomfortable for the user and can damage the internal components such as the jets, heater and pumps.
Not all hot tub water is exactly the same. Depending on the water source, the frequency of use and the location of the hot tub, all of these factors will effect the water balance. Total alkalinity, pH, and calcium hardness must be within the correct ranges to balance the water and to maintain clear, healthy water.
